![]() By: Anonymous I was hospitalized because of abdominal pain. an intern saw me first. after 18 hours, the official doctor saw me. As soon as he saw me, he said that there was no reason to be admitted as this could of been done as outpatient. Now i'm stuck with my bills for the ER and one day of stay. Had the official doctor seen me first, I could of saved lots of money. The intern ordered lots of test that we not necessary and I'm stuck with a large bill for those as well. I'm not sure who to complain. I hope Northridge hospital reads this review and make a comment. I have called them and they refuse to talk to me. Was this review helpful to you? Yes or No ![]() By: Anonymous I HAVE NEVER WRITTEN A BAD REVIEW ON ANY PRODUCT OR FACILITY. NORTHRIDGE HOSPital ON RESEDA AND ROSCOE PROMPTED THIS REVIEW. I CAME IN BARELY ABLE TO BREATHE AND NEEDING TO SIT, RECEPTION INSISTED I STAND ALTHOUGH THERE WERE MANY SEATS AVAIL 5 FT AWAY .WHEN I TOLD HIM I DIDN'T HAVE MY TELEPHONE NUMBER,(AS WE HAD JUST MOVED) HE RIDICULED ME. I WAITED FOR APPROX 30 MIN WHILE NO ONE WAS BEING ATTENDED TO IN THE ER AND STAFF WANDERED AROUND SLOWLY. MY STAY OF 9 DAYS WAS A NIGHTMARE, FILTHY CONDITIONS, RUDE, DEMEANING TREATMENT AND CONFLICTING MEDICAL ANSWERS IF ANY. THEY STOLE $40. AND MED FROM MY PURSE, (MY OWN FAULT FOR NOT PUTTING IT IN THE SAFE) BUT ON A PREVIOUS VISIT IT WAS "MISSING" FROM THE SAFE AND NEVER FOUND. THEY DROPPED THINGS SUCH AS THE CANNULA ON THE FOOD ENCRUSTED, WALKED-ON FLOOR AND WITHOUT EVEN WIPING IT OFF INSERTED IT BACK IN MY NOSE. I WAS YELLED AT IN UNINTELLIGIBLE ENGLISH FOR NO REASON SEVERAL TIMES A DAY. THE MED EQUIP WAS OUTDATED AND FAULTY (AND DIRTY). THE ROOM WAS NOT CLEANED FOR THE WHOLE 9 DAYS I WAS THERE. I WAS AWAKENED SEVERAL NIGHTS, (ABOUT 3 A.M.) BY STAFF SLAMMING BOXES ON AND OFF SHELVES JUST OUTSIDE MY DOOR. THERE IS NOTHING GOOD I CAN SAY ABOUT THIS HOSP EXCEPT IT BEING THERE IN CASE OF EXTREME EMERGENCY. I COULD GO ON IN DETAIL THE REASONS NOT TO GO THERE. **** AVOID UNLESS YOU CAN'T TRAVEL MORE THAN A FEW MILES TO THE NEXT ER.**** Was this review helpful to you? Yes or No ![]() By: Anonymous Really? they sent me a survey asking how my visit was? do they really care? Will there be any attempt at change? Probably not. This review is for the hospital - not for the doctors that helped me. I drove here at 12am with some really strong chest pains. I have no health insurance (which is a whole other soapbox to get on) and figured this was one of the only places to go to for 24 hour care that would be guaranteed to be open. I was afraid i wasn't going to survive the morning, that's how bad my chest pain was. A little history - I had a heart attack in the past. I heard I could get any treatment I needed for 120 dollars if I went to the ER here. So i did. what I didn't know was that it was going to take over _7.5_ FRIGGIN HOURS TO BE SEEN BY A DOCTOR. My entire visit was 8 hours. Basically, they order your visit depending on severity, amount of insurance, and I'm guessing language (depending if there's staff on duty to translate - heaven forbid you need someone to speak Swahili to you, you'd die in their waiting room). I did see a sign for a phone for translation - but there was no phone. Dunno how that's supposed to work for you. So I waited. and waited and waited. avoided confrontations with the sleeping homeless guy next to me, watched as the nurses and then security yelled at another guy to get up off the floor because he was tired of sitting in the chairs for several hours. I slept on the hard chair because I was friggin exhausted. Remember how I said "severity"? well, I went in with chest pains, got x-rayed immediately, and then was told to wait. Since the doctor didn't see anything terrible on my X-ray, I was pushed to the back of the queue. He could have come out, asked me 2 questions, told me what he thought, and i could go home 2 HOURS AFTER I GOT THERE. nope, I was left in the waiting room until all others in front of the queue were done. So I sat, and sat, and sat, and finally got in. Only for the doctor on staff to talk to me for 5 minutes and send me on my way, because i didn't have a heart attack this time. How terribly anti-climactic. I wonder if they even read my survey.... I doubt they'll ever read this. Was this review helpful to you? Yes or No ![]() By: Anonymous The ER is torture. They called my family and told them I was dead. (My roomie died) Nice I know....then I had a MAJOR problem... Went 4 days in a row. They finally realized I was almost dead and admitted me and I had emergency surgery= coma for 9 days. Just this week. Went In twice before they realized does she does not she...I did have a kidney infection that got worse because they said I didn't the 1st day. ER staff are morons! Literally. Floor staff is great. Guess that's all that matters! Northridge nurses in the ER are not well trained to talk to patients. Was this review helpful to you? Yes or No ![]() By: Anonymous worst hospital i've ever been to. will never go again. came in at 3 am after throwing up 5 times for 4 hours, coughing, fever, chills, fatigued...i was scared i had swine flu. i don't have med insurance so asked repeatedly teh cost of everything. every answer was vague. the nurses rarely if ever checked up on me. they left the IV in so long that my blood started drawing the other. after ringing the nurses multiple times the doctor finally came in and said " you don't have the flu...but i may be wrong." wtf?! was he serious?! is this a joke?! plenty of times i looked around for a candid camera bc of the lack of professionalism and lack of care at this hospital. worse part was how much attitude the nurses gave me for ringing them in...aka: wanting to be helped. go figure. also, i was concerned about the $ aspect of it all and so i felt scammed that they kept me there so long for absolutely nothing. once again, i would never go here. if this review aids in some type of infraction to one of the nurses or etc, i would not dispute it. best part? i just got home and i still feel sick. great.
